Multiply quantity by the recorded payout

In an ordinary binary result, a winning share redeems for 1 pUSD and a losing share for 0. An illustrative holding of 35 winning shares therefore has a base payout of 35 pUSD. A current card price cannot replace the confirmed redemption value.

First identify your particular outcome and the market’s recorded result. A news headline can concern a similar condition with a different deadline. Then check quantity, excluding shares previously sold and quantities that were requested but never actually acquired.

A payout differs from profit

In a practice example, 35 shares acquired at 0.46 cost 16.10 before expenses. A full payout of 35 leaves a difference of 18.90 before expenses. If additional costs are labeled F, the resulting difference is 18.90 − F.

Describing only the 35 as earnings omits acquisition cost. For a losing side, a zero payout likewise does not mean a zero accounting result: the purchase and expenses still matter. The worked example supplies arithmetic rather than a return forecast.

A split payout is a distinct result

Documentation allows a binary market to record a split payout; negative-risk markets do not settle that way. Do not automatically assign 0.50 to any canceled event. The actual result record and the particular contract conditions are required to establish that value.

If an illustrative recorded redemption value really is 0.50, 35 shares return 17.50. Against the same acquisition cost of 16.10, the difference is 1.40 before expenses. The payout rule determines the arithmetic; calling the outcome a win does not.

Redeem and the account type

Redeem exchanges a resolved position for collateral. Current documentation describes an explicit redemption and confirmation wait rather than universal automatic credit for every user. If an interface offers Claim or Redeem, reconcile it with the selected market and current account conditions. A visible winner without confirmed redemption does not establish a received balance.

Documentation distinguishes the modern Deposit Wallet, legacy Proxy and Safe Wallets, and an eligible EOA mode. Deposit Wallet and EOA operations use different submission paths; direct EOA transactions require POL for gas. The signer address may differ from the address holding the position. Identify the account type and balance before applying another wallet's Claim instructions, and never disclose keys to obtain payout assistance.

Result, redemption and receipt

Resolution establishes a result, redemption exchanges positions at the recorded payout, and withdrawal moves resulting funds to a selected recipient. Each stage needs its own confirmation. One result notification cannot establish completion of all three separate operations in that sequence.

Reconcile market identifier, redeemable share balance, operation state and resulting balance. If a problem occurs, retain its error text and time rather than repeating unrelated actions blindly. Check outstanding orders and previously sold portions against their separate records as well.

Common questions

Does a winning share always establish profit?

No. Profit requires subtracting acquisition cost and expenses from the payout, using the quantity actually still held.

Does the deadline mean an immediate payout?

No. Confirmed resolution and completion of the relevant redemption operation are required. A dispute or trading closure is a separate state.
