ODDSATLAS / THE FIELD GUIDE
Methodology and sources
Where estimates come from, what timestamps mean and how OddsAtlas handles missing data, translations and corrections.
An independent information portal
OddsAtlas helps readers interpret questions and market estimates. The portal does not accept funds or execute trades and is not an official Polymarket website. Access to information does not establish trading eligibility.
Sources and provenance
Public Polymarket data is the initial source for live mode. Events, markets and outcomes are separate entities with stable source identifiers, original links, rule versions and timestamps. Only retrieved and matched information is displayed.
DEMO is a separate mode containing illustrative questions and prices with visible labels on pages and charts. A source failure does not switch live mode to demonstration values. Commercial republication and storage rights require a separate review before a public launch.
What the displayed number means
The percentage is a market estimate for the selected outcome. Its labeled basis may be a midpoint, last trade or source-reported outcome price. It is not a guaranteed execution price. An unknown basis cannot silently be described as a midpoint.
A missing quote stays missing. Volume and liquidity cannot be inferred from a chart’s shape. Independent contracts within one event are not combined into a distribution totaling 100%.
Time and freshness
“Fetched” is the time a source response was saved. “Observed” is the quote time when supplied by the source; an unknown observation time is labeled separately. Server configuration controls the stale threshold. Live mode does not promise a continuous exchange feed.
After a failure, the last valid snapshot retains its real time and is marked STALE. Without a snapshot, the display is UNAVAILABLE. An event’s open, closed, resolved or disputed status is separate from data quality.
History and changes
Charts use stored observations with a stated period and price basis. Without history, there is no line. Missing intervals remain gaps. DEMO history is labeled as illustrative and does not belong to a real contract.
Changes are expressed in percentage points and calculated only from comparable observations. A quote update does not alter the editorial review date. Explaining a movement through news requires its own source and evidence of causation.
Rules, dates and results
The event date, contract deadline and result confirmation are displayed separately when known. A passed deadline does not establish a confirmed outcome. Calendar entries identify the date type and time zone. Missing schedules are not replaced with guesses.
Rule summaries are explanatory. The original conditions and their source are available separately. A resolved event retains its verified result and useful history at the original address. Disputed or unknown results are labeled explicitly.
Translations and corrections
RU and EN share the same quotes, dates and results. Translations are linked to a stable entity and source-text version. Changed rules trigger another review. A missing translation is not hidden by English body text beneath a Russian URL.
When a discrepancy is identified, the original source is checked, the affected text or mapping is corrected and a new version records the meaningful change date. Pending translations or data are labeled accordingly. An article’s review date does not establish the freshness of every quote.
Language, favorites and external links
A direct /ru/ or /en/ address determines the page language. The root entry uses a saved manual choice, then a configured country source and browser preferences. Geolocation is disabled by default. A test country is a simulation, not a visitor location measurement.
Favorites are stored in the browser without registration. If persistent storage is unavailable, they work for the current session with a notice. Polymarket buttons are identified as referral links: the site owner may receive compensation under the external program's terms. Navigation happens only after a click and promises no visitor bonus, trading eligibility or selected market destination. Referral attribution to a particular event has not been verified. Check product availability separately; language selection does not establish it.
