The answer belongs to the wording
An illustrative question asking whether a launch will be delayed ties Yes to a delay. A question asking whether it happens on time ties Yes to a different condition. Restate each complete question before reading its percentage.
Pay particular attention to negatives and qualifiers such as not, at least and never. Turn the question into a statement and check what confirmation under its rules would mean. Button color or the popularity of a side cannot replace that interpretation.
One contract versus neighboring markets
Yes and No within one standard binary contract represent opposing answers to the same condition. Yes outcomes from different contracts can overlap. Touching two price thresholds during a month, for example, can satisfy both questions at once.
Write the market identifier, deadline and result source beside each side. A shared asset name is insufficient. If one condition covers a week and another a year, subtracting one estimate from 100% does not automatically relate them.
What a complete set means
The documentation describes a complete set as equal quantities of Yes and No in one market backed by the corresponding pUSD amount. This is a structural relationship between positions. Two arbitrarily selected shares with similar names do not constitute that set.
In a practice example, 7 Yes and 7 No form 7 pairs; 7 Yes and 5 No form 5 pairs plus 2 Yes. Counting structure does not establish an advantageous purchase: acquisition prices and expenses remain separate accounting items.
The recorded payout can need extra context
An ordinary binary result gives one side the full payout. Documentation also allows split payouts for some binary markets, while negative-risk markets have a different restriction. Read the recorded result instead of assuming one universal cancellation rule for every contract.
To understand a particular market, check rules, status and recorded payout in that order. The conditions determine which facts matter. A high percentage, a confident comment or an elapsed deadline cannot replace completion of the result process.
FAQ /
Common questions
Does buying No mean selling Yes?
No. They are different balance operations. A purchase adds the selected position; a sale transfers shares already held in the particular outcome.
Can every event card’s percentage be added together?
Only after checking the structure. Overlapping thresholds, deadlines and independent questions do not form one set of mutually exclusive answers.
