Identify the competition and category

Check the season, competition, format and participant category. A league winner, cup winner and playoff champion can represent different titles. Do not replace a championship question with a current standings lead or reaching the final; those are separate measurable events.

Illustrative example: team A reaches the final and then loses. Its qualification condition is met, while the tournament-win condition is not. This is not a report about an actual competition.

Check whether the entrant list is complete

A long list of names does not necessarily include every possible champion. A checked tournament example defines Other for certain situations. If that option exists, read its meaning: it might cover an unlisted winner or a particular missing-result condition.

Establish completeness and mutual exclusivity before comparing the sum with 100%. Several separate Yes/No cards do not establish those properties merely by appearing together on an event page.

Elimination changes possibility, but check status

Reviewed tournament rules may allow No once an entrant can no longer win. A reported defeat and a card’s final status remain separate records, however. Check the format: losing one fixture does not mean immediate elimination in every competition.

Keep the round and official result. An entrant’s chance in a later season cannot be transferred into the completed tournament just because the name stays the same.

Read tie handling and the cutoff

The terms should define the official result, multiple declared winners and how long the title announcement may remain pending. Checked tournament contracts differ on these points; neither alphabetical selection nor automatic 50-50 should be assumed universally.

For an archive, find the champion-announcement source and confirmed market outcome. The highest displayed percentage without resolution remains a position price, rather than an official title.

Common questions

Does the final’s winner settle every tournament market?

Check the particular title, season and exceptions. A league-championship question can differ from winning a separate cup final.

What does Other mean in a tournament market?

It is an option defined by the event’s rules. It can cover an unlisted entrant or a specified missing-winner case; read the exact condition.
