The pair matters beyond the ticker
The name Bitcoin does not identify the quote currency. BTC/USD and BTC/USDT are different pairs. Record the exact pair from the rules alongside its venue or data stream. Do not replace it with whichever screen is easiest to open.
In an illustrative example, two pairs sit on opposite sides of a threshold of 100. That does not invalidate a contract that already designated one of them.
High, Close and averages answer different questions
A candle High is its maximum, Close is its closing value, and TWAP averages observations over time. They are not interchangeable. A checked archived BTC market requires Binance one-minute candle High; current Up/Down documentation separately describes Chainlink TWAP.
Identify the measurement before choosing the interval. An hourly candle’s maximum cannot establish a rule that asks for an ending value at a particular observation time.
The source price and position price are different values
The resolution source measures the asset in its quote currency. Polymarket’s order book prices a position in the outcome. An illustrative 70% for Yes does not mean Bitcoin costs 70 or that the asset has gained 70%.
When an application shows both series, check the axis labels and each snapshot time. Comparing unlabeled values can turn two different charts into an apparent contradiction.
Record a reproducible observation
A useful record includes the full question, source, pair, field, interval, time zone and value without extra rounding. Record any fallback source or clarification procedure separately. A missing condition cannot be reconstructed from a similar contract.
Keep the original observation time. A screenshot taken after the deadline and labeled now measures something else, even when it is only a few seconds later.

Why does the price in my app differ?
The pair, venue, measurement or refresh time may differ. Match them to the selected market’s terms before concluding that anything is wrong.
Does one exchange settle every crypto market?
There is no basis for assuming that. The particular rules specify a source; a Binance contract cannot automatically define a Chainlink or other market.
